on March 27th, in about two weeks we will have a city wide member learning session open to the public! It will be at Concordia’s EV building (1515 Rue St. Catherine W.) in room EV 7.105 from 18:30.
The workshop is called FarmVillage: The AgEx Game. Basically it is our all beloved facebook game but for real … not really but close. This is an experiential learning workshop created for the 2013 EWB National Conference, now modified for use by EWB chapters and others. The workshop consists primarily of a farming simulation game in which participants must act as farmer groups and interact with other actors in the agriculture sector in Ghana. The participants’ goal is to maximize their profit as a group. Participants are given starting resources, but must find the information required about how to optimize their farming practices to grow the highest yield. In this way, participants learn about the value of agricultural extension services in helping them use best practices on their farms, and thus, they learn about the work of EWB’s AgEx venture.
If you are interested please join us Wednesday March 27th at 18:30 (6:30pm). We are looking forward seeing you!
In case you already know that you will join please fill out the RSVP form so that we can get an idea how many facilitators we need.
